Parish Notes August 29, 2010

Special Events…

Rally Day! Rally Day, the annual Parish Picnic and the Fall Kickoff for Christian Education will be on Sunday, September 12, 2010. Immediately following the 10:30 service we will gather at Conger Park (formerly known as Highland Park) for food, fellowship and fun. There will be lots of fun activities for children too! Dress casually for church and bring your favorite side dish. We will provide the chicken and sodas.

The ECW Fall Luncheon & Dinner, (formerly known as the “Calendar Party”), will be held October 27th and 28th. This year’s theme is “Timeless Tales” with tables decorated from childhood stories. The luncheon will be on Wednesday, October 27th at 12:00 noon with table viewing beginning at 11:30 a.m. Luncheon tickets are $20 per seat or $160 for a table of 8. The Dinner will be on Thursday, October 28th at 7:00 p.m. with table viewing beginning at 6:30 p.m. Dinner tickets will be $30 per seat or $240 for a table of 8. All proceeds go for the ECW’s Extensive Outreach Program. Please call 660-5651 for reservations.

New Foyer Groups Begin in August. Foyer groups are an easy and enjoyable way for parishioners to get to know one another – especially newcomers and folks who go to different services – in an informal social setting. Once each month, over a four month period, group members meet at one another’s home or at a restaurant for a simple dinner, to get to know each other.  Each time groups are reassigned to meet new people. The new groups are listed on the bulletin board by the parish office.

The 2010 Altar Flower, Altar Supply and Altar Candle sign up sheets are posted. Please sign up on the bulletin board by the elevator for your Sunday to provide altar flowers. These are filled on a first come, first serve basis so if you have a date that has special meaning to you, sign up early!! We 2 openings, September 5th and September 19th on the calendar! Please sign up on the bulletin board or contact the parish office at 424-0556.
